“Better” Hamish shares his verdict on the IFE trade show
2nd April 2019
“Better”. That was my verdict on the IFE trade show in Excel this year. Two years ago, in the aftermath of the Brexit vote, it felt like a show that was down at heel, with a lot of the international brands staying away. This year the show was bigger and there was a good buzz about the place and, whisper it quietly, a good sense of optimism in the trade. We had our usual couple of days back to back meetings and its always great to grab a coffee with people you have worked with and come up to speed with what’s going on in their world.
On the home front, we launched our long awaited podcast – drumroll please – called The Grocery Insider. It’s been three weeks since launch and I am delighted to say that it’s been a runaway success, with just shy of 1,000 downloads of the two shows we have put up so far.
Apple got in touch to say that we made a great impression on iTunes – we have been officially graded as ‘New and Noteworthy’ on iTunes. The only thing better is ‘Hot’, which of course we are aiming for! So thanks if you have downloaded the shows so far and if you haven’t then do have a listen on the way into work, in the car, on the train. It’s a great way of keeping up with what’s going on and if you want to star in an episode or have any questions you want discussed on the show then please drop me a line.
As we speak Roseanna (our much loved Marketing & Commercial Consultant) is sitting her Chartered Institute of Marketing exams which I am sure she will breeze through. She’s been coming into the office at around 7.30am most mornings in the runup to the exams to bag a cheeky half hour of quiet study before we all start to come into the office, so she has put the work in and I am sure she’ll pass with flying colours. All the team are active studying CPD or Professional exams, it keeps us on our toes and challenges us.
So, it’s a short week or two now until we get to the Easter break, so happy Easter from all the HRA Global team if we don’t get to speak.
